Principal’s Message

Hello East Franklin Families,

Welcome to a new school year! Ever since I was in school, the end of summer break was sad but also exciting. Trading days free from homework, staying up late and sleeping in for early mornings to catch the bus had me down in the dumps. But the new school year brought good times with friends I hadn’t seen all summer as well as new and exciting topics in my favorite subjects, Science and Reading.

This year has a different type of excitement for me. I am happy to be joining the East Franklin community as your new principal. I have been an educator for 21 years working with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and, for the last 15 years, here in South-Western City School District. Most recently, for the past 3 years, I was the South-Western City School District administrator at the Buckeye Ranch School. Prior to that, I was a 5th grade Science, Language Arts, and Math teacher at Holt Crossing Intermediate school. As you can see, I took my love of Science and Reading and made it something I am just as passionate about as a teacher.

Outside of school I love to cook, spend time with my dogs, Morty and Lola, go for long bike rides all through the Central Ohio area, and when I can, travel!

While we are slowly getting back to normal after the last 2 school years, our East Franklin family will be working just as hard to keep everyone safe as we all get back together. We will continue to practice all the things we know have kept our students and staff safe and healthy as well as provide the top notch education all our students deserve. I look forward to working with the entire East Franklin family as we continue to soar like the Eagles we are!
