Principal’s Message

Dear East Franklin Elementary Students and Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already to the month of October and we are past the beginning of the school year. The start to the year has been amazing and I am proud of the progress we have made. Students are settled into routines, relationships are being built and learning is taking place. Hopefully you are as excited as I am to be at East Franklin Elementary.

Every day during morning announcements our virtues are discussed. We discuss that East Franklin Elementary students: are responsible, they show respect, they are giving, they show perseverance, they practice self-discipline, they show compassion and they are honest. For the past few weeks we have focused on one specific virtue and we honor those students that show the virtue by reading their names aloud during announcements and stating what they did. We believe that it is important for home and school to share a connection with expectations. Please address our virtues with your child and offer praise/encouragement when you see one take place. For example, if you notice your child struggling with an assignment but they work hard and eventually finish, discuss how they showed the virtue of perseverance. The virtues will resonate with our students if we both work together in educating them about their importance.

Please continue to check this website for updates and update your Parent Portal whenever your information changes.

If you have questions or concerns please feel free to call or email any time.

Have a great month!

Mr. Matthew DeCastro

Principal, East Franklin Elementary
