Keep your Infinite Campus Parent Portal information updated to get text, phone, and email updates!

Infinite Campus (IC) is the District’s Internet-based student information system. Important features of IC are the Parent Portal and NEW Mobile App. Through the IC tools, parents are able to access their child’s information, such as class schedules, attendance, academic reports, transportation information, coursework, and put funds in their child’s food service account online. Parents can also designate how and where they wish to receive emergency communications, attendance calls, general announcement messages, and e-mail messages from teachers, the school, and the school district. New accounts need an activation key. The district will be mailing those out in August, so save the letter if you need to create a new account.

To create an IC account, please go to:  https://www.swcsd.us/ParentPortalMobileApp.aspx

If you already have an IC account, please update your emergency contact information at:    https://www.swcsd.us/OnlineAnnualInformationUpdate.aspx

SWCSD PARENT ENGAGEMENT

The South-Western City School District has a steadfast commitment to fostering the partnerships between parents and our school community. Parents' role in their childrens' education is invaluable to their success. Parents are their childrens' first teacher and are a treasured resource for our classrooms. Research over the course of the last half century states that parental involvement is the number one key success factor for students. Students whose parents are involved in their schooling experience have better attendance, earn better grades, and demonstrate adaptability and social skills.

Our very own National and District Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) promote the following three parental behaviors as the most poignant predictors of student achievement, transcending socio-economic status:

1) creating a home environment that encourages learning

2) communicating high, yet attainable expectations for achievement

3) staying involved in their child's education at school

We welcome and encourage parents to be active participants in their childrens' education. From the moment they begin their journey in pre-kindergarten through their trajectory to graduation, we lock arms to support our children to reach their full potential.

Our goal is to surpass parent involvement and to truly engage parents. Parental Engagement requires the home and school to come together as a team. Our district strives to provide parents and caretakers with authentic and active opportunities to fully participate in their childrens' education. Parents, just like our students, need to be fully seen and fully heard to help guide our shared work.

Our staff strives to exemplify the six standards for parent engagement shared by our

PTA partners:

1) Schools engage in regular, two-way, meaningful communication

with parents.

2) Parenting skills are promoted and supported.

3) Parents play an integral role in assisting student learning.

4) Parents are welcomed in the school as volunteers, and their support

and assistance are sought.

5) Parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children

and families.

6) Community resources are used to strengthen schools, families and student learning.
